Ethics
Please be advised that I do not employ aversive training techniques or tools such as slip leads, prong collars, electric collars, or checks/half checks. If you choose to book a session with me, it is imperative that you refrain from using these methods or tools during our collaboration, as they could severely impact our training results and the long-term effects on your companion.
Using these will result in future sessions being terminated which will be non-refundable.
Booking Details
To secure your session, a non-refundable deposit of 50% is required. This ensures that appointments are not missed, as this could prevent another client from booking a slot.
The final payment will be due 48 hours prior to the appointment. Should you need to reschedule your appointment, please contact me 48 hours in advance. This allows me to book another client in your place.
Once you've enquired about a session and paid the initial deposit, I'll send you a questionnaire. Please fill it out 2 days before our session. That way, I can have a rough plan and bring any helpful equipment. Remember, failing to prepare means you're setting yourself up for failure!
Mileage
Please be advised, distances under 10 miles do not have a travel charge, any distances over this will have a charge of 0.50p per mile.
G.D.P.R
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25 May 2018. As I hold personal data about my clients (i.e. names, addresses, emails and phone numbers) this means I am a data controller and a data processor under the regulations. I am required to comply with the principles of the GDPR and ensure that your data is held securely, is not processed in a manner that is incompatible with the reason for which it was collected, is kept up to date, etc.
I can therefore confirm that:
All my clients’ personal data are securely held on my digital devices with passwords and fingerprint access that is under my sole control.
I will never pass client details to a third party without their express permission to do so.
I do not send out mailshots or unsolicited emails.
You are in control of your information, and you can ask ‘Katie's Canine Coaching’ to stop using it whenever you like.
I destroy client records once they are no longer required (eg. the client has moved away and will no longer require my services, or I have not had any contact with a client for a period of 24 months or more): this will include shredding any paper records I hold and safely deleting contact details from my phone and booking form apps.
Additional Info
During our initial visit, if your pet's behavioural issues are particularly concerning, I may suggest scheduling an appointment with a clinical animal behaviourist. I will be happy to provide recommendations or assist you in finding a suitable professional. In the meantime, I will continue to work with you to manage your pet's behaviour until you are able to secure an appointment.
I have full liability insurance & CPD Canine First Aid certification.
